BRIEF REPORT ON ONE DAY EDUCATING PROGRAM ON POSITIVE PARENTING

First of all, the Coordinator of the institute SOS, Children’s Village School, Mana Camp, Raipur had sent us a formal invitation letter to organize an one day educational program for village ladies. It was held in SOS, Children’s Village School, Mana Camp, Raipur, (Chhattisgarh) with the kind permission of Mr. Sudipta Patel, Programme Coordinator on the date of April, 18th 2014. In our team we were six students named as Deepak Kumar, Satish C.R, Seethu E.S, Simriti Pathak, Neha Prashar, Debolina Chakarbarty.

They had invited ladies as participants who worked as housewives through their volunteer staff from the nearby villages as Mana Basti, Mana Camp, Mandir Hausod, Mana Tuta. The program was organized at the open auditorium of SOS, School with the timings of 2 pm to 5 pm. The purpose of our visit was to educate and aware about the females about positive parenting and its relation with positive mental health of their children’s, and vice versa negative parenting leads to psychiatric problems, or mental illness.

It was an interactive and educating session where we held a local meeting with 40 females and after then, one by one among us we had taught them about Positive Parenting under that title of: what is parenting, how to interact with children’s, how to guide them, how to follow up about education of children, how to spend quality time with them & how negative parenting leads to psychiatric illness. It was a part of assignment given to us by our Head of Department and faculty members as considered in our course work as in exposure activities.
