Conversations with Friends (Reflection on good moments)

Last October, I moved to a hostel for the first time. It was the loneliest I’d ever been, not that I’d ever admit it. Everyone around me already seemed familiar with each other, and I felt like an introverted teen out of her comfort zone. All I wanted was to move back into my room, which was surely occupied by my sister by now. Reading was my refuge. But a week later, I met a student at dinner. During our conversation, she uttered three magical words that stopped my heart. “You read books?” All at once, I wasn’t so lonely anymore.
