I know the craving is coming on
I know this time it’s for real!
I have been fighting it a while now;
But this void I feel gives me a raw deal.
I see the look on their faces…
They know that I am weak.
I have to survive the desire
Mother, tell me is the future bleak?
But I try to find happiness in small things
My support group is with me all the while
Do I need addictions to give me the high
That my youth brings forth every day of my life?
