New Year is considered to be a good time to reflect about past, develop clarity and plan about the future. But reflection is a process which is helpful any time of the year and need not be restricted to only first day of the year. A regular practice would be helpful if you can:
- Plan for some regular quiet time
- Allow thoughts and feelings to come to your awareness
- Watch them without criticism
- Start maintaining a diary
- Notice what is important for you and what makes you really happy
- Plan how you can spend more time on things important for you or those which makes you come alive
“It is necessary … for a man to go away by himself … to sit on a rock … and ask, ‘Who am I, where have I been, and where am I going?” ― Carl Sandburg
