Give your time!

You must have heard of taking time out for yourself! It is important as it can help us to rejuvenate/recharge ourselves. It can also be a time for connecting to our dreams, looking back and reflecting on things we can learn from our experiences.

Though major breaks are appealing and have their own benefits; we tend to underestimate micro breaks that may be feasible to implement. Micro breaks (e.g. 20 minutes a day) in our day to day life that give us a pause from our running race and help us tune-in – can be valuable to sharpen our self awareness and help us feel more grounded and charged. Of course, it depends on how we utilize the micro breaks! If we are still doing the same things from which we need to take a break (e.g. checking face book posts, internet surfing) – then it may not add much value.

So, this month, check out the benefits of taking time for yourself.

Time for yourself in the form of mini-breaks- on a regular basis- to recharge, to become self aware and to remind yourself of what matters the most. Plan it out!

This can help you to defocus from yourself, get a larger perspective and also feel more fulfilled. This need not be in the form of doing something on a grand /mega scale- it could be about doing a little thing that may be needed by someone around you, using opportunities that come your way to help or proactively reaching out and doing something of value for someone who is not close to you/for a social cause that you deeply connect to.

So how about being on the lookout for such opportunities this month to give some of your time on things outside of yourself?

Finally, it is you who need to figure out the right kind of balance between managing your demands and responsibilities, giving time to yourself in the form of those mini-breaks and giving of your time to someone/something else VOLUNTARILY. Try to figure it out this month and jot down your experiences that can guide your next course of actions in the New Year!
